Secure Password Hashes in Python – Mitigating the effect of leaked databases

A session at Python User Group Meeting: Secure Password Hashes in Python

  • Felix Schwarz

Thursday 9th January, 2014

7:00pm to 8:30pm (CET)

The talk will be about password hashes, security and hardware-accelerated hashing, and current state-of-the-art hash algorithms. Also it will cover hash migration, remote timing attacks, and implications on the (web application) authentication architecture.

No prior knowledge of cryptography necessary.

«Please note that the actual cryptography part will be very superficial, my goal is to demonstrate how existing libraries and algorithms can be used from a developers point of view.»
