I’m a digital marketer, cyclist, writer and lover of good cheese and whiskey. I now head up digital strategy for Salesforce ExactTarget @MarketingCloud.

In past lives I have owned my own agency, written a book (Sex, Brands & Rock’n’Roll) and worked for brands such as Nike, MTV, Rovio, Zynga, Reebok, Dell, BMW and Vodafone. I have headed up strategy for TBG (Facebook’s largest ad agency at the time), built the UK’s largest social media program for Phones 4u Group and headed up social strategy for Adobe EMEA. I have also spent some time as a cocktail bartender and a giraffe keeper!

I won’t do the usual humble-brag of listing my awards and appearances on lists of top digital influencers. You can see what I’m about by following me on Twitter @JeremyWaite or reading my blog. In the real world, you will usually find me speaking at a conference or seminar somewhere.

I’m currently writing my 2nd book (about digital story-telling at the speed of now), due out later this year.

I am most passionate about building communities and helping brands to stand for something bigger than themselves. I love the way Steve Jobs described Apple and have a similar feeling about what we are doing with the Salesforce ET Marketing Cloud ~ “We exist at the intersection of humanity and technology”. In real terms, that means I spend a lot of my time talking about customer journeys, loyalty, strategy (social, mobile, email, web), social business, digital measurement (ROI, F.R.Y. NPS) and big data.

A handful of the people I look to for inspiration are ~ Brian Solis (analyst), Seth Godin (marketing educator), Simon Sinek (thought leader), Nate Silver (data driven journalist) and Jason Silva (digital philosopher).

And in case you wondered… mine is always an Old Fashioned.

Jon began his career in China, where worked for China Risk Finance, a credit card start-up that was voted Asian VC Deal of 2007, before co-founding NeochaEDGE, one of the leading creative agencies in China.

In 2013, Jon was named to Brand Innovators 40 under 40 list.
