Cleaning, Curating and Enriching Data for Analysis

A session at SQL Saturday #320 Raleigh

Friday 5th September, 2014

9:00am to 4:30pm (EST)

Designed for data analysts, data scientists, data enthusiasts, BI architects and BI developers, this one day seminar will take you on a journey of data cleansing techniques that will identify pitfalls in data acquisition and cleansing and will provide simple yet effective methods to clean and curate valid data for analysis. These techniques will hold true for all scenarios whether you are building a simple solution for a one-time analysis or an enterprise analytical system.
Expect to review data structures and designs required to support analysis as well as study options and available resources for enriching your data. Additionally, we will examine tools and technologies that easily allow you to bring together data for rich, detailed analysis using commonly accepted best practices.
While the techniques covered in this day long training will be tool and technology agnostic, we will take advantage of common tools on the Microsoft platform that can be leveraged for data acquisition, cleansing, and curating along with understanding the pros and cons of each of these technologies.
Breakfast, lunch and refreshments will be provided.
