We've teamed up with Telefónica incubator Wayra for our latest event where we’ll be hearing from key note speakers Uber, YPlan and Spotify on what it takes to strike it big followed by rapid-fire pitches from four Wayra startups: Yoyo, Skim.it, Rotageek and iwunta.
It’s been a big year for the UK tech scene with cities like London, Manchester and Cambridge producing some of the sharpest entrepreneurs of their generations, while more established players in fintech, ad tech and fashion tech are seeing promising results.
We’d love it if you came along to our event for a lively evening of insightful presentations from category-leading tech players, engaging discussions, rounded off by networking drinks with more senior executives from major media companies, hot startups and investors.

Having raised a total of 538m since 2006, Spotify now has more than 40m users with rumours of an IPO in the pipeline, Spotify managing director of UK & Benelux, Adam Williams will share Spotify's growth story.
What's fueling Uber's growth? Uber general manager Jo Bertram will share her experiences of Uber's attempt to win the taxi app war. Armed with USD1.2bn of venture capital and a USD18.2bn valuation, it's already spending on aggressive growth.
YPlan COO Peter Briffit will give us some insights into how, having raised USD12m in its Series A round to fund international growth, the mobile-only going out app is driving ongoing investor interest.
With a strong focus on innovation and the startup landscape through our executive intelligence platform, StrategyEye's head of editorial and analysis Tom O'Meara will talk about the latest digital media investment trends and where the money is going.
Gary Stewart, the UK director of Telefonica's startup accelerator Wayra will introduce four carefully chosen startups (listed below) to pitch at the event.
Rapid-Fire Pitch: Yoyo, a London-based mobile payments and loyalty app, has raised USD5m in seed funding. Through its tactical rollout across London universities Yoyo is ironing out any early kinks that emerge as it builds our its rapidly-growing user base.
Rapid-Fire Pitch: Aiming to solve the problem of living in a time-poor, but content-rich world, Skim.it is a visual bookmarking tool that allows you to do more with the good content you find online.
Rapid-Fire Pitch: RotaGeek provides simple and powerful cloud-based scheduling for everyone from retailers to doctors.
