Impact of the successful Executive Officer – Challenges, expectations and potential to achieve influence

A session at The 6th Annual Executive Officers’ Conference 2014

  • Monika Boogs

The successful Executive Officer must be a master of
many arts, from administrator to team leader, information
manager to a multi-departmental influencer of the first
order. Charged with taking the lead on sensitive and
high-priority projects across large complex organisations,
the Executive Officer needs a well-honed technical skill
set but also a clear understanding of their relevant place
in the overall structure. They need to be aware of the
expectations, the responsibilities, and the opportunities
to shine. In this session, Monika asks the question – just
who and what is the Executive Officer? And what can
they become in today’s ever-changing environment? This
discussion includes:
• Understanding the context of the Executive Officer role
• Balancing workload management with people
• Meeting increasing demands and challenges head-on
• Opportunities to achieve influence and affect cultural
