Using Twitter for Instructional Practice and Professional Development

A session at Teaching and Learning in a Digital World 2014

Wednesday 20th August, 2014

1:15pm to 2:00pm (EST)

Over the last 2-3 years I have used Twitter to extend my Personal Learning Network. I have shared what I have learned from being in the classroom to obtaining ideas from other teachers. I then integrated Twitter in my classroom through a variety of engaging activities that can be used across all subject areas. These activities allow students to think, apply and share their knowledge. There were also great discussions about digital citizenship in terms of using social media tools in the classroom. In this session, I will share these ideas with colleagues on the effective integration of Twitter in the classroom.
