UCD2014 User-Centred Design Conference

UCD2014 explores how User Centred Design is applied in a variety of disciplines.

24 25 October 2014

Currently in read only mode, sorry about that, please try again in a few hours.

This is the 3rd year of our all inclusive 2 day UCD conference, that includes main room talks and choices of workshops, refreshments and a social event on the 24th with drinks and canapé included.

Tickets can be purchased for Friday, Saturday or both days. A limited number of early, early bird tickets go on sale on the 1st of April.

The idea for this unique organisation, just like many great ideas, was conceived in a pub when three of the organisers commented on the lack of collaboration of like minded groups, the lack of quality local speakers being seen and the prohibitive cost of attending conferences in general.

That night in the pub we decided to put together UCD2012 as a platform for exploring the many disciplines that have User Centred Design as their foundation and focus on UK based speakers (but not exclusively) who are the best in their field. We wanted to offer real world case studies, provide inspirational presentations and interactive workshops and offer opportunities for learning, sharing, networking and socialising with like-minded people.

Another issue with conferences is they cut into work time, we wanted to be responsive to the audience and well 'user centered' this means having the conference split between one week day and one weekend day, some people can go to both, others can only make one or the other.

To get UCD2012 off the ground we had to form a company to manage the whole thing in a professional manner. After UCD2012 Conference was such a success we decided to continue and run UCD2013 Conference with great success. UCD2014 Conference is our third one and will show how we have refined what we are doing but also won't lose it's edge.
