Building products for human beings with user research, personas and other ways of representing the humans at the other end of the screen is just the beginning of how empathy can help companies build products. Empathy also has an impact on how you work with KPIs, objectives, and what kind of products you build - empathy is key to emotional experiences that build loyal audiences and passionate users. This talk will use examples and case studies to make the point that empathy is what's missing in a lot of today's product strategies (and in how we interpret the strategies we have), and provide ideas how to improve on this front.
