The technical showcase demonstrates ongoing effort in Apereo Learning analytics initiative (LAI) to build an open and scalable architecture for the Learning Analytics. The showcase includes key architectural components of the Open Learning Analytics platform. The team showcases a prototype system containing the various learning analytics components working as a cohesive system. The components include: Learning Data Collection and emerging open standards integration, Learning Data StorageRepository, Academic early alert system, Intervention systems and a multi-purpose widget based Open Dashboard systems delivering template insights fromall the other four systems.

Assistant Vice President, Information Technology for Digital Education
As Assistant Vice President, Information Technology for Digital Education for Marist College, Mr. Baron directs the office of Academic Technology and eLearning which is responsible for overseeing a wide range of instructional technology initiatives, including distance learning, faculty professional development, and learner support. He also plays a leadership role in strategic planning for the College in areas of academic and information technology.
Innovation Working Group
I work for the Central Computer Services for the University of Amsterdam and the Hoge School of Amsterdam (ICTservices). For the last fourteen years I have been a lead developer, helping to bring in large-scale deployment of services for the entire student and staff population. I work full time in a work group for Innovation. I currently have three specializations; Getting stuff done, Quality Assurance and Learning Analytics.
I was the Sakai Foundations Quality Assurance Director. I am one of the founder members of the Sakai Project Management Council and the Apereo Foundations community officer for its Learning Analytics Initiative (https://www.surfspace.nl/artikel....). I am also one of the incubation processes mentors. Previously, I have won a Sakai fellowship and jointly a Teaching With Sakai Innovation Award (TWSIA). Further, with the excellent assistance of many in the community I have written two official workbooks on Sakai. I have also written a book on Quality Assurance and Continuous Integration (http://www.packtpub.com/authors/...).

Learning Analytics Specialist
Sandeep Jayaprakash is a Learning Analytics Specialist in the Academic Technology Group at Marist College. Sandeep works on applying big data and data mining techniques in education to identify trends and patterns among learners in a variety of academic settings and their learning methodologies. The insights gained are used to further enrich the learning experience of faculty, students etc. through building practical and innovative applications to supplement their learning efforts. He has a Master's degree in Software Development and his current research focusses on predictive modelling and building large scale academic early alert and retention systems to identify at-risk student population.
