Patterns for Real-Time Streaming Analytics

A session at Big Data TechCon Chicago 2015

The focus on Real time streaming analytics is at an all-time high. With the plethora of new data sources and the steep rise in data rates, it is imperative to be able to process all this data as they come in, without storing them and react accurately, all within few milliseconds.
Although “Real-time Analytics” has received much attention under the ‘Big Data’ theme, the discussions mostly revolve around ‘counting’ usecases. Counting is only the tip of the iceberg of existing and potential uses of Streaming Analytics. Since input data arrives as a data stream in streaming usecases, a time dimension is always present in the data. This time dimension allows us to implement and perform very powerful operations such as time windows and temporal event patterns.

The goal of this session is to discuss and implement different real-time streaming analytics patterns.
