STSSwLD - Supporting Teachers Support Students with Learning Disabilities

A session at BIT15 - Bring IT,Together 2015

Friday 6th November, 2015

11:00am to 11:50am (EST)

Huge amounts of money are spent on technology accommodations in schools. SEA equipment, Chromebooks, tablets, online systems and more. Unfortunately, unless teachers focus on the technology that has been provided to the students, these students don't make the connection between what they have been given and what they suppose to be doing in the classroom. This presentation will focus on how teachers can use tools and systems like GAFE, WordQ and Kurzweil (if available) to model, to the whole class (UDL) with ultimate benefit to students with LDs, so they feel comfortable using their technology independantly and on a daily basis for ALL subjects.
