A session at BIT15 - Bring IT,Together 2015

Friday 6th November, 2015

1:00pm to 1:50pm (EST)

We will provide examples of how we have used GAFE tools to assess the inquiry process during Genius Hour sessions in the library. Genius Hour is an engaging way to develop inquiry skills in students and to encourage critical and creative thinking. Using Google folders and Google forms are effective ways to provide timely feedback and assess their learning. Practical examples for organization and student exemplars will be shared.

-understand how Genius Hour fits into all grades and in the school library goals
-understand the 4 stages of inquiry
-use Google forms at an intermediate level for assessment
-encourage students to self assess about their learning
-provide examples of GAFE assessment tools
-share an online resource to help educators get started with Genius Hour in their class
