A 10 Minute Guide to Choosing a Realtime Framework

A session at ForwardJS 2015

Wednesday 4th February, 2015

2:30pm to 2:45pm (PST)

You know you need to add realtime data and interactive functionality to your web and mobile apps. But with so many realtime frameworks around how exactly do you go about choosing the right one for you? Do you go with Socket.IO just because you've heard of it? Or do you spend days crawling the Internet for something to directly suit your apps use case and needs? In 10 minutes I'll attempt to cover 5 key things (that's 2 a minute - *gulp*) you should consider when choosing a realtime framework. And provide you with example solutions that will provide the essential realtime functionality your apps needs.
