Everyone nods their head when you ask if they want their department to be built on a strong foundation of data and customer insights. Yet the painful reality is that most of us work in an environment that is not achieving this goal. From my experience in both start-ups and billion dollar companies, there are a shared set of mistakes that keep companies from really embracing the power of data. Here are four trends that I have seen and my own wins (and losses) in trying to overcome these obstacles.
