Program Objective

This program equips you with the skills to expand your leadership capacity, improve your strategic decision-making skills and your ability to lead teams to drive collaboration across your organization. *Qualities of an Effective Leader – Identifying the key characteristics of effective leaders
*Identifying your assets and liabilities as a leader
*The difference between managing and leading
*The skills of an effective leader
*The 6 Keys to a winning team

Module 2- The 3 Key elements of leadership

*Personal Leadership – Identifying with strengths and weaknesses and developing a strong sense of self-awareness
*Team Leadership – Learning to motivate and inspire teams in the face of challenges by reviewing the following areas: developing a vision, leading by example, being inclusive, managing negativity.
*Task Leadership– Ensuring the job gets done and you are instrumental in improvements that secure the future of your work area and the organization as a whole.
*Delegation – Distributing relevant work tasks in such a way that it is seen as motivational and effective.
*Continuous Improvement – Identifying new opportunities. Regularly reviewing business processes and methods in the drive for improvement.
*Problem Solving – Coping with problems as they arise and using a simple method to explore innovative ideas and come to a reasoned solution.

Module 3- Develop your leadership style

*Using different management styles for different situations
*Pinpointing your own management style and evaluating for effectiveness
*Developing Your Team Goals
*Formulating goals to balance the key components of team leadership: task, team and individual

Module 4- Communication

Your communication determines your success as a leader. Avoid the mistakes that are guaranteed to put a brake on your career. Learn to conduct crucial conversations with your staff and build trust.

*The most common communication mistake (you’re probably making it now)
*The 4 Types of Communicators & Personality Types- which group do you belong to?
*Moving from win-lose to win-win situations in daily interaction
*The power of empathy
*Get your point across & avoid unnecessary conflict

Module 5- Running meetings that get results

*The ground rules for leading and controlling meetings
*The art of the huddle (practiced by the likes of Capital One & Ritz Carlton)
*How to work with the different types of personalities
*Ensure positive actions out of meetings
*How to provide focus for the meetings & craft an effective agenda
*Closing Meetings effectively and on a positive note
*How to handle the potential obstacles

Module 6- Speaking for effect

Whether you are running a meeting or addressing your team, the way you present yourself and come across will determine how your team responds to you. In this module you will learn to:

*Deliver your message confidently and effectively
*Engage and connect with your audience

*Improve your presentation style
