Building a Minimal Host for Docker Containers

A session at Infrastructure.Next SCALE 2015

Friday 20th February, 2015

3:30pm to 4:15pm (PST)

This talk will look at Project Atomic and how we're building a slimmed down, tailored operating system to run (and orchestrate) Docker containers. We'll take a look at how the host is built using rpm-ostree, the trade-offs that come with an immutable host, how you can roll back to the previous state without hassles, and much more.

We'll also look at running privileged containers to debug hosts where installing new packages isn't possible.
