Power Workshop: JavaScript Legacy Refactoring Workshop

A session at International PHP Conference Spring 2015

Thursday 11th June, 2015

9:00am to 5:00pm (CET)

Working on legacy systems is not fun? Do you feel less productive as a developer? Is the system becoming more complex and the applications ROI increases slower with every new feature? Does it feel like it costs more and more money? At this point a rewrite seems to be the only valid solution. But is a rewrite the only solution? We will show you how to deal with legacy systems and approaches how to deal with complexity. We will dive right into code, put one of github’s most-starred project under test, collect code smells, identify dependencies, find refactorings to apply and increase the overall project quality. You will go home with some methods, tools and strategies to handle legacy code and you will be able to apply it the day after. You will feel productive in working with legacy code.
