How We Took Our Server-Side Application to the Cloud and Liked What We Got

A session at JavaOne Latin America 2015

Thursday 25th June, 2015

12:00pm to 1:00pm (LMT)

Taking traditional Java server-side applications to the multitenant cloud introduces many challenges. Join this session to hear about our experience with creating a software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering—which is currently being used successfully by the Java community—and the challenges we faced during the SaaS conversion. Session topics will also include our experience with the EC2 platform, the importance of automation, and how we use tools like Chef and Puppet for SaaS provisioning. Finally, we'll describe how creating a SaaS version of our product changed our thoughts about software release, and share our recommendations for successfully releasing both SaaS and downloadable versions of your product.
