How often do you come across ‘politics’ in your workplace as a challenge or impedence on your work?
This 90 minute workshop will teach you the methods used in political campaigns and show how they can be applied to the workplace to help you achieve your goals.
We will look at the challenges of influencing the opinions and behaviours of people who who are either disengaged or have a vested interest not to change.
We’ll show you how you can assess your situation as you would a political campaign, and how to identify the information and resources necessary to achieve your “victory”.
You’ll learn an approach to segmentation designed to generate momentum and increase your grassroots support.
You’ll learn how to create a relevant and meaningful vision that people easily understand and will want to support and share with others.
We’ll look at ways of acquiring regular feedback - “polling” - that enables you to best focus your resources and remain relevant to your supporters.
Our goal is for you to be able to take these tools and techniques to influence and change your situation for the better.
Please come prepared with a situation or scenario to use in the workshop - something that is frustrating you because you are not winning support or gaining any ground in your efforts to reach your goal. Feel free to obfuscate in the interests of confidentiality.

Chris Young has been leading engineering teams since 1999. He was pivotal in the BBC’s adoption of Agile in 2000-2001 using it to deliver the pioneering Multi-Screen Wimbledon Service for Sky. Since then he has worked for broadcasters and platform owners including Dish Network in the US and Deutsche Telekom in Europe.
Most recently he led the development team for the YouView Set Top Box User Interface and headed up engineering for YouTube’s largest Content Network outside the US; Base79 (now Rightster)
He worked with Kate on large scale digital transformation projects at Full Service Agency ‘Friday’
He is an active member of the Lean/Agile community speaking at conferences across Europe.
Kate Gray has been working in marketing and brand strategy since she was hired by Core Strategy Group because of her Washington, DC, political background.
She’s worked with start-up and early stage technology companies on brand and customer acquisition; consulted at Board-level with global corporations on business development and marketing; and held senior, Board level roles in marketing, communications, and business development.
She’s also worked with influential investors looking for small to medium sized businesses with great potential for global expansion.
Working with Chris introduced her to the world of Lean/Agile – an approach to achieving success in business that she heartily endorses.
