Integrating Open Access Resources Into Library Collections

A session at LITA Forum

Friday 13th November, 2015

3:30pm to 4:15pm (CST)

Open access resources (Directory of Open Access Journals, California Digital Library, institutional repositories, and others) have a reputation for being siloed—hard to access outside their given websites and even harder to integrate into library collections and discovery systems. Despite this (mis)perception, integration is possible. Learn how the digital services manager for one small university library is integrating OA into the active collection through research guides, the integrated library system and online catalog, Google Scholar, BlackBoard LMS, faculty outreach, and more.
