Technology Triage: Assessing Priorities in Small Academic Libraries

A session at LITA Forum

Saturday 14th November, 2015

1:15pm to 2:00pm (CST)

In small academic environments, librarians who embrace tech-heavy roles must identify and prioritize service enhancements, making essential improvements rapidly and moving on to other areas of need. Often tackled solo and without a budget or hardcore skills, technology triage can feel overwhelming. Discover how to thrive as a #libtech field surgeon. Using the case study of one small academic library, the presenter will go over methods by which we can efficiently assess the needs of users (staff included), prioritize and execute improvements, determine when to move on, get buy-in from stakeholders, and manage concurrent projects in the double digits.
