Leveraging Altmetrics and Digital Analytics to Enhance Library Services

A session at LITA Forum

Saturday 14th November, 2015

1:15pm to 2:00pm (CST)

Altmetrics and digital analytics are easy ways for libraries to gather usage data to better understand and enhance library services. This panel discussion brings together a group of altmetrics and analytics enthusiasts to share their expertise and projects. Tabatha Farney will share an easy-to-use web analytics dashboard to create a visually appealing report tool to assess the effectiveness of individual guides on the Springshare LibGuides platform. Joel Tonyan will discuss how libraries can leverage social analytics to measure success using Facebook’s Ad Manager and Google Analytics. Cody Behles will talk about ways to include altmetrics into existing services and how to advocate for their use. Even if you are new to altmetrics or digital analytics, come see the innovative solutions libraries are developing and leave inspired to leverage your own data to improve your library’s services!
