Making a Difference With Data in Sheffield

For leaders in the public, private and third sectors who want to understand the role of data in delivering social and economic growth, citizen engagement and effective public services.

10 July 2015 from 9:30am to 4pm

Currently in read only mode, sorry about that, please try again in a few hours.

Sheffield has a vibrant open data community and a council that is creating the environment and infrastructure to enable the benefits of open data to be realised.

Making a Difference With Data will showcase what has been achieved so far and set out what more can be practically and realistically done.

This event will engage and energise decision-makers working in or with the council by illustrating the benefits of opening up data, and explaining how, through publishing and promoting open data, better outcomes can be delivered for Sheffield’s residents, businesses, and voluntary and public services.

As well as highlighting recent local successes, such as the open data publishing platform provided by Socrata at data.sheffield.gov.uk and the Air Quality+ project run by Sheffield’s Better with Data Society, national and international partners are coming to the city to share their experiences and lessons of Making a Difference With Data.

Who Should Attend?

The event has been designed for strategic policy officers from public and third sector organisations; their delivery partners; service and project managers within Sheffield City Council; information and data officers across Sheffield; and academics and other specialists with an interest in open data.
