Introduction of the goals of the days and presentation of some education systems (Sugar, Ustad, …) as well as related education methods (Dalton, Montessori, …). The objective of this first part is to get a “big picture” of the kind of education we are speaking about and give participants a sense of what we are aiming at.
Break out in discussion groups for 1h and then collective discussion for 30 minutes. Each group lists on post-its a set of things they consider as relevant data to be measured. At the end of the session the post-its are grouped by categories (usage of software, usage of devices, social activities, …) and we look into how much of this is covered by the software presented earlier.
Now that we decides what kind of data we have and could get, we can have a look at the risks associated to its collection and ways to collect/share it. We can look at it from experiences gathered from previous and on-going activities
An evening out somewhere in Amsterdam to better get to know each other :-)
What kind of indicators can be used to match education and raw-data ? This session is a discussion over current indicators, standardised tests, policy making, … During the discussions everyone is invited in listing on a common pad the different educators that are listed or suggested. This common pad will be used as input for the following session. During this session we can have a look at existing visualisations too.

Break out in discussion groups for 1h and then collective discussion for 30 minutes. Each group look at the different indicators listed on the shared pad and think about a set of visualisations which can be used for them. We then gather back together and look at the global picture. This global picture could probably take the form of a dashboard having the different kind of visualisation grouped together. The policy makers in the room can look at the output and say if this is something that could be useful to them.
Discuss what we worked on during the past two days and prepare for the wicked problem session at the festival the day after
