Library Hacks for Teens: A College/Public/School Libraries Collaboration

A session at 2015 Maryland Library Association & Delaware Library Association Joint Annual Conference

Thursday 7th May, 2015

10:30am to 11:30am (EST)

How can public, school and college libraries work together to “bridge” students from K-12 to collegelevel research? That’s what Harford Community College, Harford County Public Schools and Harford County Public Library (Maryland) wanted to figure out. The result was a unique and fun partnership to create an online scavenger hunt contest for teens called “Harford Library Hacks,” held during National Library Week. This collaboration was also an opportunity for librarians from the three systems to learn from each other. We’ll share how we led this program and what we learned, and we’ll develop ideas for new collaborations.
