In February 2015 SafetyCulture undertook a large scale migration from Google App Engine to Amazon Web Services infrastructure. As part of months of work leading up to this point they had completely re-architected their entire software offering, migrated databases whilst maintaining feature equivalence and backwards compatibility with half-a-million devices using their software.
In this session Tom Dance, SafetyCulture's Head of Platform Development and Tristan Davey, a Senior Software Engineer with SafetyCulture, discuss this massive undertaking and how they guaranteed their data integrity, backwards compatibility and ensured this transition went off without a hitch.
