Integrated Logistic Support: RAM, preventive maintenance, inspection, spare parts and life cycle cost optimization based on DP

The Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) is an integrated and iterative process for developing material and a support, maintenance strategy that optimizes functional support, leverages existing resources, and guides the system engineering process to quantify and achieve high performance with lower life cycle cost. The ILS integrates all information from previous studies such as FMEA, RCM, RBI, RAM and AIM. In order to find the best solution concerning higher operation availability and lower LCC it is proposed to apply the dynamic programming optimization method. By using information collected during previous analysis, it will be possible to define the best preventive maintenance interval which enables to achieve higher operational availability with lower LCC. The Oil and Gas case study will demonstrate the application of ILS methodology employing dynamic programming (DP) optimizations which were carried out on the apmOptimizer software.
