The Internet wasn’t built to be that dynamic, but today’s web applications need to be dynamic and require realtime communication between clients and servers. In this session we’ll take a look at the right way to have bidirectional communication with Server-Sent Events and WebSockets. Spring Framework 4.0 introduced support for WebSockets, we’ll review the architecture behind and we’ll try to show how to build highly scalable websocket based applications. We will also cover the support for SSE introduced in Spring 4.2.
