Spock: testing (in the) Enterprise (Workshop)

A session at Spring I/O 2015

Thursday 30th April, 2015

9:00am to 11:00am (WET)

During this workshop some practical cases of application testing will be developed with the attendants. Its nature will be ludic (based on Star Trek characters) but complex enough to put into spotlight the different features of Spock as testing framework: specifications, basic config (Gradle), fixture and feature methods, blocks, specification as documentation, helpers, integration testing and functional testing with Geb.
Everything will be developed using Groovy/Grails Tool Suite. This workshop will cover all the commands and code necessary from the beginning of the project to its end, as well as the fine settings required to run it properly. The whole point will underline which are Spock specific traits over other testing frameworks in use at the moment.
All necessary program code to develop the workshop application will be supplied in advance to the attendants.
