Principal Consultant at System Concepts

Mickela is a principal consultant at System Concepts specialising in inclusive user experience. She holds a BSc (Hons.) degree in Computer Science; and an MSc degree in Human-Computer Interaction with Ergonomics from University College London. She particularly enjoys the challenge of conducting research with varied user groups including disabled users and children.

Technology and children are fast becoming best friends. We use technology to help entertain, teach and communicate with our children, but the interfaces and devices we use are generally designed by adults who often find it difficult to see the world from a child’s perspective.In our talk, we will discuss some of the challenges faced in designing for children. We will provide some top tips on how to gather relevant insights from children and will communicate the importance of understanding and meeting the needs of all children, with and without disabilities.
