As a UX leader, what skills do you need to ensure that projects run smoothly and have effective outcomes? How can you create great working relationships that make the design process as enjoyable an experience as the end result?
Design projects often present us with all sorts of leadership and management challenges - from problems with people, expectations, changes in requirements and challenging design problems.
Great leaders are critical to great design projects and great products - but what do they do that makes them so effective?
In this session, I will uncover practical tips and tricks I've used and learnt from working with some great leaders during my 17-year career in UX.
This session will be a mix of a presentation of principles (and examples) of great design leadership as well as a collaborative session for attendees to discuss the qualities they value from leaders.
My goal is to make attendees think about what they need from their leaders and managers as well as for existing UX leaders to question how they can improve in their roles to give their teams the support they need.
