Friday 24th April, 2015
12:00pm to 1:00pm
More and more companies are learning about the power of design and the effect it has on their bottom line. Consumers have increasingly sophisticated tastes, and the choice of whether to buy may come down to how an app or website looks and feels. Designers are hired to be the caretakers of brands and are expected to have the aesthetics and good judgement to ensure all visual output is consistent and if possible, timeless. This good judgement comes from experience, maturity and a dash of what many people call taste.
Tim Van Damme has incredible taste and has been entrusted with designing the look and feel of some of the biggest brands in tech. He started his career doing freelance work and then crafted UI for Gowalla, Instagram and is now a designer at Dropbox. He’s known for incredibly well thought out yet deceptively simple interfaces and icons.
On April 24, 2015 at 12:00 PM (PST) Tim will get on his soapbox to talk about his experience crafting elegant designs for some of the world’s most popular products and services.
