How Comic Relief integrates content design into agile product development

This meetup includes an on-stage conversation with Laura Morgan, a short pair writing workshop, and structured time for meeting new people.

7 March 2016 from 6pm to 9:30pm

Currently in read only mode, sorry about that, please try again in a few hours.

In the last few months at Comic Relief we’ve integrated our teams so that designers, writers, and developers work together to reach a shared goal. During this transition we’ve learned how to integrate content design into the product development process. This allows us to decide upfront what the purpose of a piece of work is, which makes the rest of our decisions easier.

We now treat content design as an integral element of the product development process instead of a “content stage” that happens at the end. We work together to develop the goal, user journey, design, and content.

We’ve discovered that working in this integrated way saves time by:

  • reducing conflict which makes decisions easier
  • increasing cross-discipline communication which leads to less re-working

In this discussion you’ll learn how to:

  • bring content design into a multi-disciplinary product development process
  • work with shared goals across disciplines from the beginning
  • tweak content processes to align with agile methods
