Pets vs Cattle - Cloud Infrastructure

A session at Boise Code Camp 2016

Saturday 19th March, 2016

4:30pm to 5:45pm (MST)

Session Level: 100

Netflix runs upwards of 50,000 EC2 instances at the same time, do things go wrong? Sure they do, but nobody loses their job over it. They have a large herd of cattle, no servers that need to be fed, nourished and tucked in at night.

This session will explore opportunities to automate and version control infrastructure just like we do web applications every day. DevOPS are an increasing number in our ranks on a daily basis. We'll take a look at some of the infrastructure templates available on both AWS and Azure as well as some platform agnostic tools to help get your infrastructure up and running like a herd of cattle.
