Building a house of data: Data migration architecture considerations to optimize data transfer, sizing, and performance

A session at Data Migration for SAP Customers

Monday 17th October, 2016

4:15pm to 5:30pm (PST)

Attend this session to examine the important architectural considerations for building and maintaining systems and applications to support newly migrated systems. Receive a proven methodology to improve the performance of data transfer from the source to the target system, and understand the elasticity of your target system and the benefits of increasing the sizing of system resources during the data migration process. By attending, you will:
•Understand the decisions that must be made when selecting a provider, including geographical location; security; performance; capabilities offered; and storage, including data backups and high availability
•Learn how to measure the performance of data migration by performing iterative migration runs and using the capabilities within the tools to measure the time, throughput, and data transfer rates
•Get migration techniques and expert recommendations on managing various source systems, including data size and type
•Investigate the impacts to data transfer performance caused by encryption and compression methods, networking, tools, and validation checks
•Step through techniques for integrating cloud solutions, such as SAP Ariba and SAP SuccessFactors, with newly migrated systems
