The Lagom Framework brings an opinionated approach to microservices to the JVM. It’s designed to help you build services in a way that aligns well with Domain Driven Design, providing a guided approach to Event Sourcing and CQRS. At the same time, it will help you to make your services truly resilient and elastic. But talk is cheap - show me the code! Get hands on with Lagom and Java in this 3h workshop. During which, we will use Java 8 to build a system based on Lagom microservices. We will persist data using Event Sourcing / CQRS, and introduce common patterns in microservice development, such as the circuit breaker. We will explore the aspects of scalability and resilience in our system, including pitfalls. At the end of this workshop participants should have a good understanding of how to build a system based on Lagom, and of some common concepts in microservice development. Participants are required to bring their own computer with a working Java 8 development environment.
