Learn how to leverage Firebase, the real time database, as a repository for all of your smart devices in and around your home. Ingredients for this session include two different kinds of smart light bulbs and led strips, 433 MHz rf transmitters, one Raspberry Pi, one or more Android devices, a pinch of nodejs and a Firebase instance. In this session we'll explore how to build a simple home automation system for techies using Firebase. We'll discuss how to get IoT device data into Firebase and how to control these devices, with the ultimate goal of orchestrating the devices and the possibility for building simple client applications that access our devices in a secure way.
