Data analytics with Rapidminer (~1.5h)

A session at IWD16 - Coding Grace Data mini-conference

Saturday 12th March, 2016

2:00pm to 3:55pm (DMT)

An introduction to using Rapidminer for data exploration, visualisation, data cleaning and classification.

During the workshop you will import a dataset into Rapidminer, look at descriptive statistics for the dataset, and generate plots such as histograms, box plots and scatter plots. Following this you will complete data cleaning tasks such as filter rows, columns and fill missing values. Finally you will train and evaluate a classification model (e.g. a decision tree) using cross validation.

People who have done some analytics tasks with other tools, and would like an introduction to the capabilities of Rapidminer.

A laptop with Rapidminer starter edition installed, available free from: (https://rapidminer.com/products/...). Its needs a Java JRE.
