Team-based personas: A new look at personas for the enterprise context

A session at O'Reilly Design Conference

Friday 22nd January, 2016

1:15pm to 2:00pm (PST)

Personas created for individual users fail to capture complex interactions between users of enterprise systems. Julia Zorzanello Byron and Omkar Chandgadkar show how they created team-based personas and aligned various silos of their product team by involving team members during synthesis. Attendees will learn how they can adopt this model to make better decisions with their product teams.

Julia Zorzanello Byron

Designer & Researcher at IBM Design

Julia Zorzanello Byron, an idealistic industrial designer, switched to software when she saw the opportunity to practice and spread empathic design at IBM. Her first order of business when she arrived was to establish user research across her team. She recently dove back into design, doing UX for IBM’s MobileFirst Platform, and is loving the challenge of ensuring users’ needs manifest in the final product.
