10:15am to 11:15am
Stories are nothing new for communicators. We listen to them, we tell them, we write them. As a writer and presenter, including stories is simply a best practice! In this presentation, I will show how including stories is part and parcel of my work:
• Our business website includes case histories that tell the story of a business challenge, provide our solution, and explain the results.
• The books I authored use fictional and nonfictional stories to make a point.
• A webinar delivered for STC—Your At-Home Office, Organization Rules! —used personas from the Technical Communication Body of Knowledge to show how STC members might apply the webinar to their specific situation.
Participants will see examples from the above sources and be encouraged to find ways to include storytelling in their professional work.
