The first details of the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) were published in the November 2015 Green Paper entitled, "Higher education: teaching excellence, social mobility and student choice". Since then, there has been much discussion about the metrics that will form a key part of the TEF. This workshop will give participants an opporunity to discuss the advantages and possible drawbacks of the proposed metrics, and to reflect on the links between data used in the TEF and that used for Quality Assurance and to meet the requirements of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
Staff interested in HE policy, those who want to know how student records will be used in the TEF, those interested in data and analytics. This could be staff from a wide range of functions within HE.
