Neural Networks and Machine Translation

A session at tcworld conference 2016

Wednesday 9th November, 2016

4:15pm to 5:00pm (CET)

Until recently, phrase-based and statistical machine translation systems have dominated the research world as well as the localization industry. A new generation of machine translation systems based on deep neural networks has arrived which has a great impact on machine translation research. Josef van Genabith will consider advantages and disadvantages of phrase-based systems and outline in what respects deep neural networks offer advantages over the existing systems used in the industry.
