While many companies have adopted machine translation for the European languages with some success, its introduction for the Asian languages have just started, but issues do exist. The fact that machine translation technology has been developed for the European languages means that its application to Asian languages is made especially complicated, in that the structures of the Asian languages are rather different from those of the former. In this presentation, we discuss the challenges and prospect of machine translation for the Asian languages, presenting a case study of several Asian languages.
