[DEV TRACK] - React; An Objective Synopsis

A session at UXDEV SUMMIT

Thursday 4th February, 2016

3:15pm to 4:30pm (EST)

React; an objective synopsis is a look into & overview of the React framework from a hype & marketing free perspective. If you’re anything like me, from time to time, you might let these outside inputs influence your decision to use a certain technology or programming technique. I decided to start using React without doing a more intense and unbiased review of how it actually works under the hood. This type of decision could have ended up with me wasting a substantial amount of time, picking the wrong tool for the job, or just not using it in the correct or most effective way.

Now that I’ve had the good sense to look into how React works and why it’s such a powerful tool for front-end web development, I want to share my findings with you and present some of the ideas behind it that are changing the way we develop web applications. This presentation covers the ‘how’ behind reacts speed and efficiency, an overview of the framework, and the impact of pairing it with immutability and functional programming techniques.

Right now, one of the hottest technologies in the JavaScript universe is React. See what everyone’s talking about while Dane puts together presentation on ReactJS and how you can leverage it to develop rich and powerful apps.
