THE DEFENSIVE INTELLIGENCE: SECURING AND PROTECTING COMPETITIVELY SENSITIVE INFORMATION OF YOUR ORGANIZATION

A session at WinningCI 2016

Wednesday 16th March, 2016

11:35am to 12:35pm (SMT)

The modern technological world presents enormous opportunities to share information. However this comes with a price. Unlike double-entry book keeping which may identify when money or other tangible assets have been stolen, due to the inherent nature of information, there are no such methods to easily identify when intellectual property or other intangible assets have been taken. Companies need to be cognizant of sensitive information that may leak due to lack of adequate security awareness or negligence which can happen at both the corporate and individual levels.

In this session, Bill and Paul will share:

Common methods of competitive intelligence attacks and information leakage that
organizations face

Technical, cyber, social engineering and traditional human intelligence gathering (including
threats from those from within the company)

Explore defensive measures and policies that can be put in place in order to help counter and
mitigate those threats
