Help alpha test Lanyrd for Android

We've released a public alpha version of our new native Lanyrd Android app. If you have an Android phone or tablet we'd love to have your help ironing out any bugs.

Our new Android app is intended to be feature-equivalent to our existing iPhone and Mobile Web apps with the added benefit of push notifications and Android-native UI patterns.

If you'd like to help test it out, join our Lanyrd Android Alpha Testers group on Google+, then follow this link to opt-in to testing the app. It may take a couple of minutes, but then you will be able to install the app from the Play Store.

The alpha is currently missing some features (that's why it's an alpha), including:

  • No support for search yet. Update 15th August 2013 - search has been added to the most recent alpha.
  • Offline event data is not yet implemented - unlike our iPhone app you'll need an internet connection to access event data. Don't forget though, you can still get offline event information support on Android via our HTML5 Mobile Web app by bookmarking m.lanyrd.com┬áin your Android browser. Update 15th August 2013 - offline support has been added to the most recent alpha.
  • The latest release of the alpha works on Android 2.3 as well as Android 4.x - but we haven't tested it on a wide range of 2.3 devices, so we're particularly interested in hearing from you.

Because it's an Alpha, if the app crashes for you, we'd really appreciate it if you click the "report" button. Otherwise, you can mail support@lanyrd.com or post in the Lanyrd Alpha community if you have suggestions, problems or questions.
